Kangchenjunga, also spelled Kanchenjunga, Kanchanjanghā and Khangchendzonga, is the third-highest mountain in the world. Interestingly, the name means – “The five treasures of the high snow”.
I can’t explain in words how I felt when I saw the Kanchenjunga for the very first time. It was in its magnificent grandeur. It looked heavenly and I immediately asked to stop the car and shot few photos through my phone. Then I realized, I could not even capture 10% of the beauty that I could see through my eyes. So, I am not sharing those photos.
But interestingly, we could see the magnificent Kanchenjunga in all its different flavours and colours during our entire stay at Darjeeling. The photo below shows one such view from our hotel although there is cloud. I will upload more photos in other posts. At the end of this post you can see a brief timelapse that I attempted to record from our windy rooftop deck.
But there is one thing I want to mention and that is the first ever view of Kanchenjunga will make you feel privileged and it is so beautiful, I cannot explain in words.
